Goodna Technology Park Solar Carpark and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations opened yesterday, Thursday morning.
Goodna Technology Park opened in 2008 and has a 30 kW capacity solar system powering energy-efficient office space in a natural, riverside environment. This launch event celebrates 24 new undercover car parks, shielded by 216 solar panels spanning 360 square metres for the use of 5 onsite businesses and their customers.
This development project means the entire complex including the new car park can now generate up to 85 kW of solar power, enabling a return on investment in 4 to 5 years and making Goodna Technology Park net carbon-negative (right now). The solar-powered charging stations provide low-cost trickle-charging bringing 100% clean energy with EV’s fully-charged every afternoon when someone is finished work.
LC Energy & Vast Solar were present along with Tesla, Jaguar, Vital Environment & You3.
The carpark was opened by Minister Dr Lynham representing the fusion of Energy and the Environment.
A new paradigm of trickle charging EV’s while a work and no doubt Peer to Peer Car sharing in the future of EV’s will result in increasing the utilisation rate and reducing volume of Cars Produced.
The Tesla 3 is an impressive new-comer in the EV as rated Number 1 by Top Gear!
